Where is Cyprus better with children? Holidays with children in Cyprus. Aphrodite in Paphos

Cyprus has deservedly established itself as a place for a wonderful holiday. There are clean beaches, good hotel service and a rich excursion program. But is it possible to go there with a child? Yes, in Cyprus, parents with children will be quite comfortable if they choose a resort wisely.

Advantages of holidays with children in Cyprus

The Republic of Cyprus receives significant profits from tourists arriving here. Therefore, the country does a lot for the comfort of vacationers. Many families with children have already appreciated the benefits of a holiday spent in Cyprus.

    • Ecology. Clean beaches are the hallmark of Cyprus. Order here is ensured by municipalities, and they do an excellent job. There is also virtually no food poisoning caused by intestinal infections. So you don’t have to worry about children’s delicate bodies.
    • Safety. In Cyprus, the authorities are successfully fighting crime. You can safely walk along the streets of resort towns with small children. Also, great attention is paid to security in hotels. Even three-star hotels are equipped with safe slides and children's pools.
    • Gentle entrance to the sea. Not all beaches have a convenient descent for children, but there are enough such places. The sandy beaches of Cyprus are ideal for families with children, because not all children like to walk on pebbles. In addition, you can build castles from sand or, depending on age, sculpt Easter cakes.
  • Long beach season. In Cyprus you can sunbathe and swim from May to October, which does not happen in all resort countries. But it is better not to travel here with small children in July and August. During this period, the air temperature is not lower than +35°C, and this cannot be called beneficial for the child. And a holiday in Cyprus with children in June, May and early autumn will be quite comfortable.
  • Excursions for children. Cyprus is traditionally considered an excellent place for an educational “adult” program. There are many archaeological sites, temples and museums. But there are also interesting entertainments for children. There are water parks and amusement parks. Children will also enjoy trips to zoos, especially “contact” zoos, where they can pet rabbits or ride a donkey.

It’s worth mentioning the disadvantages of staying on a sunny island with kids. All-inclusive holidays with children in Cyprus are not so easy to find. Not all hotels offer such a system, which is very convenient for parents. But there are options for family vacations. You can stay in apartments with a kitchen; there are plenty of similar offers in Cyprus. Or choose a hotel with a breakfast and dinner meal plan, and dine in nearby taverns or limit yourself to a snack made from local fruits. In this case, you should definitely find out in advance whether the hotel restaurant has a children's menu.

Where to go to Cyprus with a child?

There are resorts here where relaxing with children, even very young ones, will be convenient and interesting. There are less suitable places. But if you still want to relax there, you just need to know some information. And then a vacation with kids at an “adult” resort will leave a pleasant impression.

Protaras

It’s not for nothing that this town is first on the list. Most parents consider it the best resort in Cyprus for families with children. There is an excellent seashore with fine white sand, and a gentle slope into the water will allow children to swim comfortably. The beaches are located in bays, most of them surrounded by rocks; it is windless and quiet here.

The journey from the airport to the hotel takes about 40 minutes. Of course, there are shorter distances, but this is not so much, and the child will calmly endure such a trip. The infrastructure of Protaras is aimed at family tourists. Hotels offer children's menus in restaurants, playgrounds and clubs. There are many supermarkets in the city where you can easily buy diapers and baby food.

The most interesting place for children to visit in Protaras will be the aquarium. In it you can see not only aquariums with marine animals and fish, but also enclosures with other representatives of the fauna, for example, monkeys or birds. The city also has children's entertainment complexes. Overall, Protaras is a quiet and relaxing resort that offers a relaxing holiday, perfect for travelers with children.

Larnaca

This is the second most popular resort in Cyprus for families with children, where family tourists also like to go. There are many sandy beaches, although there are also pebble beaches and those where the sand is mixed with shell rock. Another feature of Larnaca beaches is that the sand here is not white, but gray. However, this does not prevent you from relaxing with children, because the beaches are clean and comfortable. Most often they have a safe, gentle descent into the water and a shallow bottom near the shore.

From the airport to the city it is only 7 km, so the road will not be tiring. The advantage of the resort is its developed infrastructure. There are many hotels here offering a range of services for children. Young tourists will find mini-clubs, playgrounds, and children's animation. Kids will love Larnaca Zoo. This resort is a fairly calm and comfortable place for a family holiday.

Limassol

Limassol is a large and bustling port city. If you are looking for a better place in Cyprus to go with children, you should consider another resort. Limassol does not have its own airport, and it will take at least an hour to get to the nearest one. The tourism infrastructure is aimed, rather, at adult travelers. Few hotels offer services for children.

But if you still really want to relax here with your child, and you are not afraid of the lack of some comfort, you can find something to do. Limassol has water parks, children's entertainment centers, and a zoo. The most popular complex for children is “Galaktika”. There are changing and feeding rooms for mothers with babies, and older children will have a great time on the attractions. The Donkey Park is a must-visit. This is a kind of animal farm where children can not only look at donkeys, but also ride them.

Pathos

This resort has advantages for families with children. Our own airport reduces travel time to and from the hotel. There are several beaches suitable for children, the most famous of which is Coral Bay. Although the sand on these beaches is artificially poured, they are very clean. But still, Paphos is not particularly loved by tourists with children. There are many pebble beaches here, and not all have convenient access to the sea. Little vacationers will not be very comfortable. In addition, Paphos is one of the most expensive resorts.

Those who are not afraid of Paphos’s inability to holiday with children can be advised to focus on entertainment. A visit to the Aphrodite water park will bring a lot of pleasure. It's also worth taking a stroll through the local zoo. Giraffes are allowed to be fed here, and peacocks walk around the park freely, not limited by enclosures. School-age children may be interested in excursions. After all, Paphos has many attractions located directly in the city.

Ayia Napa

This place is considered a youth resort: there are many bars and nightclubs. It will be too noisy for children's rest. And if you plan to spend your entire vacation with your child, it is better to choose another resort. But if you want to combine a family holiday with your own entertainment, you can stay in Ayia Napa.

Despite the abundance of establishments for adults, this resort does not forget about little tourists. Traditional entertainment for children in Cyprus, water parks, are also available in Ayia Napa. But here you can also visit the dolphinarium. There are plenty of hotels with services for children at the resort. The beaches of Ayia Napa are good for kids. Many of them are covered with sand and have a gentle entrance to the sea. So this resort also has its advantages. You just need to choose a hotel away from noisy discos and bars, and you will enjoy your vacation even if you come with the smallest children.

So, you can’t go wrong when traveling with your child to the calm and comfortable Protaras. But if you really want to go to respectable Paphos or bustling Limassol, be sure to plan a trip! Proper organization of leisure time - and you will receive only positive emotions from your vacation!

When planning a vacation with a small (or already grown) child, you want it to really be a vacation - with warmth, sea, sun, interesting excursions and new impressions. So that, upon arriving home, you can remember for a long time and tell your friends “how we were there...” and “what we saw there...”

What is also important when traveling with a baby is that the journey is comfortable and preferably not too long, so that everything is clear, and a factor that is also not in last place is the price of the vacation.

I chose Cyprus for myself. And not just for vacation. Want to know why?

We will not list all the obvious advantages of Cyprus and write about sandy beaches, drenched in the sun, about the azure sea, about mountain ranges covered with virgin forests, about olive groves and vineyards, about the rich historical past (civilization arose 9,000 years ago). Of course, all this attracts tourists to Cyprus, but much of the above is also found in other countries. And in order to understand the peculiarity of Cyprus, let’s imagine this: you have a week or two to rest. You want sun and warmth and to fly for a short time. But it’s already November, or even worse, December. The swimming season in 3 hours of summer is already closed. What should I do? Now it’s time to remember about Cyprus!!!

The most popular holiday destination for Russian tourists is Limassol. But popular does not mean the best. Preparing for the trip, I carefully studied information about the cities, and it turned out that Limassol is a fairly large city and financial center. There is a rather large port there, which you will agree is not the best neighborhood for beaches. There is a wide road right behind the beach strip, which is also not very encouraging. And the atmosphere there is more urban than resort. Is this necessary on vacation? Ayia Napa is a famous place for discos and fun until the morning, and although many families come there, I still chose Paphos, and did not regret it for a second, since it really meets even the most demanding requirements.

Large enough that you can find everything you need in the city - large supermarkets, branded clothing stores, many restaurants for every taste, but at the same time you are surrounded by low houses and private villas, peace and tranquility, compared to a big city, and the prices for holidays here are lower than in Limassol. The British, Germans, Greeks and the Cypriots themselves like to come here to relax - yes, that’s exactly what one family from Limassol told me. I met many Russian families here who came here more than once, staying for 3 weeks or a month, or even purchasing real estate and spending their free time.

Another undoubted advantage of Paphos is its own airport, which means you can get to the city in just 15 minutes, and to more remote places in half an hour, which is also an important factor when traveling with children, and you don’t need to overpay for a transfer.

In addition to relaxation, this is also a wonderful place for recovery - many bring children with asthma, bronchitis, allergies or skin diseases - and here everything goes away by itself, without any medications, plus, sea bathing is a wonderful and pleasant form of hardening. Ask yourself - medication or rest - and the answer is obvious.

In Paphos you can inexpensively rent an apartment near the sea or a villa; there are many hotels.

What to do in Paphos and surrounding areas?

For me, the best option seems to be to rent a car and go to all the interesting places yourself. This way you are not tied to excursions with their time, and it’s obviously more convenient with children. But if this is not possible, then you can first go around on foot (or use public transport) interesting places in Paphos, and then hire a personal driver for a day or two and see the surrounding area. Believe me, it's worth it.

To explore all the sights in detail, you will probably have to come more than once - and every time you can find something new.

You can take a historical trip through the myths of ancient Greece, visit the baths of Aphrodite and Dionysus, climb the mountain of all the gods Olympus, admire the unique Paphos mosaics that have survived for thousands of years, walk through the ruins of the ancient temples of Apollo and Aphrodite - in front of you it’s like a history textbook come to life, and if You’ll even be lucky to catch a performance in one of the surviving ancient amphitheatres.

Want to look underwater? Here you can easily find scuba diving centers, or you can simply dive with a mask and snorkel, look at sea urchins, colorful fish with their long spines, and touch the swaying fancy underwater plants, and if you are brave enough, go on an underwater expedition to one of the sunken ships .

Nature? You don’t need to go far for exotic things - just go outside the vicinity of a villa or hotel in Paphos to get to banana plantations, olive groves, citrus orchards, or try to reach out and pick a damn attractive large red pomegranate growing by itself in a vacant lot. You can also go exploring the coast and look for a turtle beach or sea caves. Do you want to climb higher? The mountains begin very close, where the climate is much cooler and there is plenty of snow in winter. You won't believe it, but there are real ski resorts here with good slopes and lifts. And in the summer it’s a good salvation if it’s too hot on the coast. You can find a cedar valley lost in the mountains or try to track down timid mouflons, and if you’re in the mood, go on a short pilgrimage to ancient churches and monasteries, of which there are many in the mountains.

Thrill-seekers will certainly enjoy the slides in the water park, and children will happily spend the whole day there. You can also organize a horse ride or ride a donkey, visit a bird and animal park, or arrange a quad bike safari. Oh yes, I almost forgot - there is an excellent sea and beaches nearby, and if none of the above tempts you, you can just lie lazily in a sun lounger and, admiring the blue sea, lazily sip a refreshing cocktail.

Do you want to check if everything I wrote here is true? I’m still in Cyprus, and if you have any questions, I’ll be happy to answer and I’m sure the island won’t disappoint you.

If you are going on vacation with the whole family, including children, you should find out in advance where there are comfortable conditions for them. This is especially important if children are of primary school and preschool age.

Here we already have to impose special requirements on hotels and resorts. Fortunately, tourists with children are not uncommon in Cyprus. This means that there are enough places on the island where you can have fun and comfortably relax with the whole family.

Cyprus is chosen for a holiday with a child for several reasons:
  • Relatively short flight;
  • Great beaches;
  • Dry Mediterranean climate, beneficial for promoting child health;
  • There are no problems in obtaining a visa;
  • Cyprus is known for its large selection of fresh fruits and delicious cuisine that is suitable for children too.

What can attract children themselves? You can hardly find animators here, like in Turkish resorts. But there are numerous water and amusement parks, attractions, aquariums and attractions. All these points together make Cyprus an excellent place for a family holiday, with benefits for the child’s health.

But remember that a change in climate zone is always accompanied by acclimatization. Small children tolerate it more difficult. Therefore, it is worth going to Cyprus with kids for at least 2 weeks. During this time, your child will have time to acclimatize to new conditions, relax, and swim in the sea.

Which resort to choose for a holiday with a child

On an island with a mythical past, there are several of the most popular and sought-after resorts: Paphos, Limassol, Ayia Napa, Larnaca, Protaras. Each of them has its own characteristics, advantages and disadvantages.

Protaras. This is where families most often come who are looking for a cozy and relaxing beach holiday: clear clean water and white soft sand invite you to forget about everything. As for leisure, it will be interesting and educational for children Ocean Aquarium.

  • Do not miss:

In the evening you should definitely look at " Dancing fountain show", which will delight both children and adults. Protaras has a developed infrastructure, many hotels and supermarkets. In addition, it is only 40 minutes from Larnaca Airport.

Ayia Napa. The resort can be called one of the most suitable places for a family holiday, although it is considered a youth resort. The best beaches on the entire island with soft sand and a gentle entrance to the sea are what you need to introduce children to swimming.

There are hotels that are located away from the noisy center, near the coastline. They are perfectly equipped for holidays with children. Usually these are 4-5 star hotels. The resort has a large water park WaterWorld, interesting Museum of the Sea, amusement park. And an almost real pirate ship, on which you can take an exciting boat trip with the whole family.

Larnaca. The small and quiet resort, where the largest airport in Cyprus is located, is also suitable for a holiday with younger family members. In the old part of the city you can not only explore the old fortress, but also get acquainted with the quiet life of the local residents. In the tourist area, where most hotels are located, there is a sand and pebble beach.

The hotels themselves are equipped with all the infrastructure necessary for a family holiday and offer a wide range of services. Larnaca has several museums, but no large amusement parks. By renting a car or signing up for an excursion, you can visit the salt lakes where flamingos flock.

Limassol– it’s a port city, so you shouldn’t go here with small children. The bustling and colorful seaside town is suitable for trips with teenagers or adults. But it won’t be very comfortable there with kids. There is a water park not far from the city Watermania, among the attractions are archaeological excavations, the old quarter with a medieval castle. Limassol itself has many nightclubs, bars and shops.

IN Paphos There are very few comfortable, sandy, good beaches, which greatly reduces its popularity among couples with children. On the other hand, the historical center is interesting to visit. But Paphos is better known as a resort with luxurious and expensive top-class hotels. The most interesting place for children - Bird Park in the vicinity of Paphos.

We are in Cyprus with a child

The answer is clear - yes, holidays in Cyprus with a child available. Arguments in favor of traveling to Cyprus with children:

Pclean beaches and clear sea . Most of the beaches in Cyprus are ideal for children: gently sloping beaches, clear water, well-developed infrastructure with sun loungers, umbrellas, toilets and lifeguards.

Magnificent beaches (but not all) and the cleanest sea in Cyprus

Friendly attitude towards children . Taverns and cafes usually have a highchair and sometimes a playground. In public places they can give something to a child (a balloon, a car).

Our 7-month-old baby fit perfectly in a highchair in the restaurant

N Availability of parks and playgrounds. Parks are located mainly in cities, and sites can also be found in resort villages. Hotels and taverns also often have play areas for children.

Small children's playground in Polis

Entertainment . In Cyprus, various themed entertainment parks have been created for children and adults: water parks, amusement parks, zoos, an aquarium, a camel park, a bird park, a donkey park, and enclosures with mufflons.

Convenient to move with a stroller . There are promenades for walking along the coastline. Many beaches provide wheelchair access to sun loungers.

Promenade in Limassol

Minimal crime. The streets are absolutely safe.

Cyprus with children: where is the best place to go on holiday?

Where is the best place to relax with a child in Cyprus:

Protaras. One of the best resorts for a holiday in Cyprus with children. Gentle beaches with turquoise water, developed infrastructure, a calm resort village.

Central beach in Protaras

Ayia Napa . A party resort, an ambiguous place for a trip to Cyprus with a child. Depends on what area and near what beach the accommodation is chosen. Beaches where I would not go on holiday with a child: Latchi Adams (rocks and garbage), Nissi Beach (lots of drunken young people, but the beach is beautiful) and some beaches in the surrounding area (rocks). Take a closer look at the beaches: Makronissos (eastern), Landa, Vatia Gonia, Pernera A, Pantachou, Glyki Nero. The key is to choose a hotel away from the bar area.

My child and I are on Makronissos beach (one of the best in Ayia Napa or even in all of Cyprus)

Larnaca. A good option for a holiday with children in Cyprus. Pros: close to the airport (it doesn’t take long to get to the hotel), a big city (therefore, there are supermarkets where you can buy food and diapers). The beaches in the city are quite good; in Larnaca Bay along the Dhekelia highway there are small quantities of pebbles on the sandy beaches.

Phinikoudes beach in the center of Larnaca

Limassol. Can be considered as a holiday with a child. Limassol is the largest city on the coast of Cyprus. There are many parks (including a water park and a zoo), children's playgrounds, entertainment, and stores with children's goods. Equidistant from both airports in Cyprus (≈65 km from each). Cons: the most expensive resort in Cyprus; some beaches are pebbly, and those that are sandy are a dismal grey. But children don’t care what color the sand is on the beach :)

Not the prettiest beaches in the center of Limassol, but children like them

Pathos. In general, Paphos resort is suitable for families with children. This is a residential city with developed infrastructure and large shops, close to the airport. But you need to be careful when choosing the beach closest to the hotel, since here they can be either sandy or rocky, not entirely suitable for swimming. Also, in some parts of the city, the beaches are concrete areas - this is certainly not the best place in Cyprus for children.

Sandy beach SODAP in Paphos

Coral Bay. The resort village is quite suitable for a holiday with a child. There are several large hotels and cottage complexes here. Excellent flat sandy beaches of Corallia and Coral Bay, developed resort infrastructure.

Policy. The resort may be boring for a holiday in Cyprus with children. The infrastructure is rather poorly developed. The only large supermarket is Papantonio with a small selection of baby food and diapers. The policy is located away from the coastline; you will have to walk or drive to the beach. The beach is equipped, sand and pebbles with a children's playground. Not far from Polis there are small villages on the seashore: Lachi (Lathi), Agraka, Pomos. As in Polis, the beaches are sand and pebble with a significant amount of pebbles.

How to choose accommodation for a holiday with children in Cyprus

Basic housing requirements when traveling to Cyprus with children:

  • Availability of a baby cot (if relevant by age).
  • Availability of a children's pool.
  • Good soundproofing in the rooms and no noise from the street.
  • Cleanliness in the room and throughout the hotel.
  • Children's animation.
  • Nanny services.
  • Availability of a playground and/or children's room.
  • Distance to the nearest organized beach.
  • The presence of positive reviews, especially from parents who vacationed with children.

If you are planning a trip tour, then it is more convenient to buy tickets through special sites. Without leaving home, you can analyze real prices directly from tour operators, read hotel reviews, and then book online. At the agency office there is usually not enough time to fully study the reviews, but at home no one is in a hurry. Plus the prices are transparent.

The largest tour sales sites online:

  • – a large number of offers, a convenient website and 24-hour customer support.
  • – prices for the same tours are cheaper than on other sites.
  • – another good site; before purchasing, you can check the prices here.

If you are flying on one's own, then to book accommodation you will need the following sites:

  • Booking– the main site for booking hotels in Cyprus.
  • Airbnb– a site for renting private housing: apartments and villas (if you register, use the link to receive a welcome coupon for a $$ discount).

Examples of our housing in Cyprus for 30-40€ for 1-2 rooms + living room and kitchen (in high season, these options may be more expensive)

Rules for transporting strollers and infant carriers on an airplane

Each airline has individual conditions for transporting children and children's accessories, so they are described below. average rules. More exact information need to check with the air carrier, with whom a flight to Cyprus is planned.

Conditions of transportation child on an airplane depends on his age:

  • Up to 2 years (infant)– a child can fly without a separate seat (on the parent’s lap). In this case, transportation of the baby is either free or a small fixed fee is paid. If for one adult there is more than one child under 2 years old, then for the second, third, etc. Children must purchase a separate ticket. In this case, the tariffs will be the same as for the category of children from 2 to 12 years old. Baggage: Airlines often allow infants to additionally carry a stroller or cradle, as well as a small bag with a change of clothes, diapers and food for the duration of the flight, free of charge.
  • 2-12 years– a separate seat is purchased for the child, but, depending on the airline’s pricing policy, discounts may be provided.
  • Children over 12 years old– the same fare applies as for adult passengers.

From the personal experience of the authors . When we flew to Cyprus with a child, we planned to use the car during the entire period of our stay on the island. The child was carried on the plane in a baby carrier, which the baby could take into the cabin for free. In the same car seat, the child traveled with us throughout Cyprus every day for 3 weeks. We didn’t take a base with wheels (stroller) with us, but for hiking we used a hipster backpack (it periodically appears in the photo in this article).

Features of car rental in Cyprus for traveling with children

According to the rules in Cyprus, children in a moving car are:

  • up to 135 cm- must be in a special seat/booster according to weight category;
  • from 135 cm to 150 cm- can only be located in the back seats;
  • over 150 cm– can be placed on either rear, and on front seat.

Regardless of the seating arrangement, children should always be buckled up seat belts.

Rental prices infant carriers, car seats and boosters depends on the pricing policy of a particular rental company and the season. Average rental cost from 0 -5 € per day or 0-20€ for the entire rental period.

  • Myrentacar– the best, in our opinion, car rental site in Cyprus. Collects proposals from large and small local companies. The support service is excellent. It was through this site that we booked a car when we traveled with our child. A review was written.
  • – another good site, but it works more with large and international companies. Haven't used it ourselves.
  • Rentalcars– the principle of operation is the same as the previous one, but prices may be slightly higher. Booked on one of our long-ago trips to Cyprus. The experience was described.

It is highly advisable to choose a car with automatic transmission(in Cyprus, driving is on the left and right-hand drive cars, with a manual it will be difficult to change gears) and air conditioning(it’s very difficult without it in the heat, especially for a child).

From the personal experience of the authors. We rented a car in advance on the Myrentacar website with a pick-up and drop-off point at Larnaca airport. As we wrote above, we used our own infant carrier, which we carried on the plane for free.

What to see with children in Cyprus

In Cyprus you can see the following attractions that children may enjoy:

Ancient cities and sites . Students will benefit from visiting ancient ruins to gain an understanding of the ancient world. The most interesting locations: the ancient city with mosaics of Nea Paphos and the Royal Tombs in Paphos, the ancient city of Kourion near Limassol.

Cape Greco. An interesting walk around (Cavo Greco) with beautiful views, bays, grottoes. Located near Ayia Napa and Protaras. It will be interesting to ride ATVs here with older children. At Cape Greco there is open sun, it is advisable to choose a time to visit in the late afternoon or early in the morning. It’s possible with a stroller, but not very comfortable, since the path to the observation deck to the Peace Monument is rocky.

Avacas Canyon . A fascinating journey through the gorge near Paphos. You can walk through the canyon with children who already know how to crawl over stones. Wheelchair is not an option. With babies in a sling/kangaroo, you can easily cover some part of the route. But from the parking lot to the gorge itself you need to walk about a kilometer through an area open to the sun.

Akamas Nature Reserve . Located on a peninsula near Polis. It is quite a long drive from Ayia Napa, Protaras and Larnaca; it can be difficult for small children. Plus, you need to get to the sights of the peninsula by SUV along a bumpy road over steep cliffs (not every parent can mentally endure the fact that their child will ride along this bumpy ride over a cliff). Teens will likely enjoy it here. Especially if you travel around the peninsula on ATVs. But for younger children it is better to choose another place.

Troodos Mountains. Far from Ayia Napa, Protaras, a little closer, but not much, from Paphos and Larnaca and conveniently from Limassol. Children may like the observation decks and waterfalls: Milomeris, Kantara, Mesapotamos and Caledonia (to the last one you will have to walk a little more than a kilometer along the river bed, it is not possible with a stroller, the rest are not far from the parking lot). There are enclosures with mufflons, you can walk around and look at these artiodactyls in their natural habitat. It will be great to stop by the charming village of Kakopetria with an old water mill, and also check out the Cyprus Railway Museum, where you can climb into an ancient railcar and mail car.

Children with parents at Caledonia Falls

From the personal experience of the authors . We saw all the sights of Cyprus with our child, regardless of his age. We tried to visit places with a long stay in the open sun in the evening. In our opinion, the success of such trips depends most of all on the willingness of the parents themselves to travel with their children.

Excursions around Cyprus with children

There are excursions group(on a bus with other tourists) and individual(for an individual family/company in the guide’s personal car). With children, the second option is more convenient, and for a large family it can also be economical, since the price is usually indicated for the entire excursion, and not per person.

Websites where you can book a tour in advance:

  • Group: Excursions TezTour, Sputnik8.
  • Individual: .

What to look for when ordering an excursion:

  • The guide's car is equipped child car seat by age (this issue must be agreed upon in advance so that the guide can prepare).
  • The guide has good reviews(check them out before booking a tour).
  • The guide is careful driver(this is sometimes noted in reviews).
  • Duration excursion program. Young children may find it tiring on a full-day excursion.
  • When choosing a topic for an excursion, you need to consider children's preferences.

Sun protection

Dangers, which lie in wait for children and adults in the heat:

  • Sunstroke.
  • Heatstroke.
  • Sunburn.

How to protect yourself:

Headdress . Be sure to wear a hat/cap/scarf/bandana for your child.

Clothing made from natural fabrics . To reduce the chance of overheating, dress your child in cotton clothing.

Sunscreen . Use creams based on zinc oxide and titanium dioxide (recommendation by pediatrician E.O. Komarovsky), since these compounds are the least safe for sensitive children's skin and do not penetrate the bloodstream. Before the child reaches the age of 6 months, the use of sunscreens is not recommended by doctors.

Umbrellas and canopies . When walking with babies in a stroller, use a hood. On the beaches of Cyprus, rent a sun umbrella (price – 2.5 € per unit for the whole day). The right to use it is secured even if you leave for lunch/break (keep your receipt). If you are vacationing for more than 6 days, then it is more profitable to purchase a personal umbrella at retail outlets near the beaches (10-15 €).

We took canned meat with us from home. Some of the fruit puree was brought with them in doy-packs, some was bought on the spot, and the child was also fed fresh local fruits: apricots, peaches, bananas and melon. We brought dry instant porridge, infant formula, and mother’s breasts with us. DiapersPampers Premium CareFor most of the trip we took it from home. Holidays in Cyprus with children: our reviews

We travel quite a lot (30+ countries), so we can safely say that it is an excellent choice of country for a holiday with children.

If we went on a beach holiday to Cyprus with a child next time, we would choose the resort of Protaras (Fig Tree and Vrissi beaches), Ayia Napa (Makronissos, Landa, Vatia Gonia, Pernera A, Pantacha beaches with a hotel away from the bar street, Glyki Nero) or Coral Bay (Coral Bay and Corallia beaches). We would choose a hotel with apartments (that is, with a kitchenette) or a private apartment.

For a child under 2 years old, food would be partially prepared on site from Cypriot vegetables, and a certain amount of ready-made baby food (especially meat) would be brought from home in case of excursions or sightseeing trips. For a slightly older child, we wouldn’t bother so much; we’d cook on the spot or feed him in a restaurant.

We would definitely take one with air conditioning (in principle, we always do this when visiting Cyprus) and travel around the island with a child in comfort and on a schedule convenient for us.

Regardless of the age of the child, they would visit any attractions of interest, but not everyone would choose entertainment. For kids - zoos (in Paphos, Limassol) and theme parks with animals and marine life (donkey and camel parks), playgrounds and amusement parks with attractions for the little ones (can be found in any city and resort village). For a child of primary school age, we would additionally consider water parks (Ayia Napa, Limassol, Paphos) and amusement parks (Ayia Napa, Limassol, Paphos), and a teenager would definitely be taken there.

Cyprus is an excellent alternative when you are already a little bored with a holiday in Turkey, but you don’t want to go to Egypt because of the heat or for some other reason.

Here you will find beautiful beaches, a child-friendly shallow entrance to the water, countless hotels aimed at a comfortable stay for little guests with mini-pools, animation and development clubs, playgrounds, water slides, thoughtful menus, cribs and high chairs for babies.

You will not have any problems with nutrition - everything is very varied, but at the same time quite familiar for a Russian person (cheeses, delicious national potato dishes, a wide range of dairy products, etc.). Throughout the resort towns there are a great many mini-markets and super-markets with the necessary range of goods for children - baby food, curds, kefir, yoghurts, etc. dairy products, diapers. An adult will also find everything he needs there.

In addition to all the listed amenities, Russia and Cyprus have a simplified visa regime. To obtain an electronic permit, you will not need any certificates or other papers. The whole process takes literally 10 minutes.

The flight time is also pleasing - about 3.5 hours in the air, and you are on a magical island! The swimming season lasts a record long time - from May to November.

Holidays in Cyprus are a completely European leisure format. The calm, safe atmosphere, friendly, pleasant people, and the highest level of service will not leave anyone indifferent, and will be in your memories for a long time after your return.

So, we present to your attention our personal rating, which includes the best hotels in Cyprus for families with children:

Ayia Napa

A very popular resort, it is loved by both young people and families. Ayia Napa has earned such attention due to the presence of well-maintained sandy beaches (changing rooms, showers, umbrellas, sun loungers and other necessities), snow-white sand, a gentle entrance, azure water, a lot of entertainment, an amusement park, a water park, many restaurants with cuisine to suit every taste and budget. and age. Makronissos beach, Cape Greko, the monastery, tombs, the sea museum, neighboring Famagusta - all these tourist places are at your service and are practically within walking distance.

Atlantica Aeneas Resort & Spa 5*

1 of 8

This luxury hotel is only separated by a road from Nissi Beach. A very green and beautiful area with many pools, there are rooms directly with access to the pool and with sun loungers on the balcony. A children's playground and colorful water slides will delight every child. Flowers and banana palms grow everywhere. There are a lot of children here; there is a children's club with interesting entertainment and a Russian animator for them; in the evening there are show programs and children's discos. There is a wonderful cook, so the food is simply excellent. There are shops nearby where you can buy essential goods.

Nissi Beach 4*

1 of 8

One of the most popular family hotels in Cyprus. For children, Nissi Beach has an excellent children's club, playground, swimming pool, games room, as well as a children's menu. In the evenings there are mini discos. The territory is large and beautiful, decorated with a variety of flowers, including fragrant jasmine, and there are paths and lifts for strollers everywhere. The most interesting fact, perhaps, is the presence of pelicans. They live right on the territory and walk both on it and on the beach. No child will remain indifferent!

Larnaca

The oldest city on the island has an infrastructure similar to other resorts: luxury hotels for families with children, equipped beaches, entertainment, cafes and restaurants, shops and supermarkets, a picturesque promenade for walks. A distinctive feature of Larnaca is its affordability; here tourists can find fairly economical accommodation options. The entrance to the water is sandy and gently sloping, there is shallow water everywhere, the water warms up quickly, and during transition periods it will be a little warmer than in other places. Larnaca is quiet and calm, no parties, but it can offer intellectual entertainment and fun for the soul - there is a salt lake with flamingos, several museums, a fort, and many well-equipped playgrounds scattered throughout the town.

Golden Tulip Golden Bay Beach Hotel 5*

1 of 5

The first undoubted advantage is the proximity of the hotel to the airport; the transfer will not take much of your time. Just outside the area there are three shops where you can buy essentials and groceries. The territory, like most hotels in Cyprus, is not very large, but well thought out. There is also a children's pool with a slide and a good play area. The beach is excellent, sandy, with a gentle entrance to the water and long shallow waters, which is just right for relaxing with a child; an adult will have to walk a little to get to the depths. Sunbeds are free and are assigned to vacationers for the entire duration of their vacation. A fresh, varied and tasty menu, a large selection of fruits, all kinds of seafood, meat, poultry and even Japanese cuisine with rolls and sushi on some days (if you choose this all-inclusive hotel). The children's club is open for children from three years old, mini-disco is held, but not every day. The rooms are all fresh, with nice new furniture. Responsive and friendly staff will always come to your aid. There are also Russian-speaking employees. A 5-minute taxi ride from the hotel there is a very large children's center where you can arrange family shopping.

Palm Beach 4*

1 of 5

This friendly hotel is recommended for a relaxing holiday with small children. Beach with compacted sand and free sun loungers, very smooth entry, no waves. Bungalow category rooms are available. The rooms with a view of the park will be quieter, the rooms with a view of the sea are located under the restaurant, in the evening they will be a little noisy (although with a closed balcony you will only hear silence), keep this in mind when choosing a category. Furniture and plumbing are all new, children's beds are of a good standard. There are no complaints about the food, incredible variety for both adults and children. In addition to what is on the menu, you may be offered to prepare something additional if, for example, the child finds it spicy or tasteless. But no one uses this option - everything is perfect anyway. The territory is huge, all in flowers, palm trees and greenery, well-groomed and clean. The hotel has a wonderful fitness center - you can combine a pleasant holiday with useful exercise. Several days a week there is entertainment during dinner, and on other days the meal is accompanied by live music. There is no specific children's animation in the hotel, which may be why it is four-star, but here you can find a lot of advantages - spend time with your child, communicate, build sand castles, frolic in the pool, relax together, not apart!

Limassol

Limassol is inferior to Ayia Napa in terms of fun, but, nevertheless, you can and should relax here with children, here are a couple of arguments in favor of this city:

Le Meridien Limassol Spa & Resort 5*

1 of 6

A large beautiful area, a private sandy beach (with inconspicuous inclusions of pebbles), free sun loungers and umbrellas - all these are factors that allow you to decide in favor of a holiday here. The sand in this place will be of interesting volcanic origin, darkish in color. We can talk about the children's club for quite a long time: a large area (3 thousand sq. m., a swimming pool with water slides, areas for games and sports entertainment, a children's restaurant and a small amphitheater), a professional team of animators from around the world. Your child will not be bored for a minute - they will host the Olympic Games, have fun in the pool, or offer to prepare crafts as a gift for parents. There is a mini disco every evening. Once a week they organize a reporting concert, where all children who wish can express themselves in singing, dancing or any other creative activity - whatever the child’s soul desires. Also, for parents with babies, an additional paid service is provided - childcare by a responsible and professional nanny (nursery), who you can always rely on. It is better to take meals in the “full board” format. A varied and tasty buffet - no one will go hungry. There is a children's menu.

Four Seasons 5*

1 of 5

A chain club hotel where you want to stay. Impeccable 5-star service, nothing distracts you from your holiday, every whim will be fulfilled for you, they will understand you in any language, they will help you in any matter. A beautiful green, compact, but unusually well-thought-out area (children will be delighted with the pond with blooming lotuses, live fish and a waterfall, while adults will not have to run around looking for changing rooms, showers, etc.), a private beach, awarded the Blue Flag for the entire its charm and cleanliness, umbrellas and sunbeds are free, and the most attentive staff is immediately at your service. The children's club has two divisions: for children from 3 to 8 years old and from 8 to 13. There are two children's pools, a slide, a playground, and a children's room with animation. The menu for the week is never repeated, they constantly organize themed dinners, and the quality of the food will satisfy both children and adults. Bars periodically hold promotions called “happy hour” - all drinks can be purchased at half the price. On site you can find a minimarket and a store with premium branded clothing. Beauty salon, fitness center, tennis court and spa - all at your service!
The administration has prepared a video for future tourists (though in English) about a family vacation in Four Seasons:

Pathos

The city that gave Aphrodite to the world can be considered a fairly elite vacation spot. It’s not an obvious choice for a family vacation, but, nevertheless, there are decent hotels for a holiday with a child here, and nature will delight the eye - picturesque bays, unforgettable landscapes, lush vegetation and secluded beaches. Let us warn you right away that there is a problem with sand; some hotels find a solution and build artificial beaches. Paphos has its own airport, the transfer will not take much time. Unlike Limassol, there are practically no Russians here, for some this will be a significant plus. A bird park, a water park, an aquarium - all this is available to the little guests of the island.

Coral Beach Hotel & Resort 5*

1 of 5

The hotel has a beautiful green area, all surrounded by flowers, located on a slope, there are children's pools, water slides, a children's playground with swings, carousels, a slide, a children's club and a paid nursery. There is an indoor pool, where you will have a nice time when it is very hot outside. In the evenings there is a mini disco. There are special paths for strollers. Algae on the beach is removed every day. First coastline, small harbor, sandy beach, free sun loungers and umbrellas. A variety of delicious food (there is an all-inclusive system), porridge is prepared for breakfast, there is a separate children's menu. Near the hotel there is a supermarket with everything you need. The rooms are very spacious and a baby cot is provided free of charge. Every evening there is live music in the lobby. For adults there is a free gym and yoga classes.

Elysium 5*

1 of 5

Not a hotel, but practically a castle, surrounded by greenery. It is located near the airport, on one side of the hotel there are the tombs of the kings, on the other there is an archaeological park. The beach is a small bay, sand of an interesting dark color, sun loungers in the form of four-poster beds. The entrance to the sea is nice and gentle, with rocks starting at the depths. Excellent fresh rooms, cleaning twice a day. The food is at the highest level, both children and parents will be satisfied. Every evening there are themed dinners and live music. There is a children's club and a playground, there are no mini-discos, but there are always quite a lot of children at the hotel, so everyone can find a company to their liking. The staff is attentive and friendly to every guest, many speak Russian. There are no problems with the Internet - wi-fi works throughout the hotel.
